The renewable energy sector is growing - fast - and so are expectations. As demand for solar and sustainable solutions rises, so does the need for high standards, speed and trust. In this kind of environment, your team and your ethics define your business.
I’ve learned that it’s not just about how skilled someone is on paper. Over the years, I’ve hired based on impressive CVs and sometimes been disappointed. What I really look for now are three things:
Integrity - I need to trust that my team will do the right thing, even when no one’s watching. It’s that internal compass that ensures we maintain our standards, especially when it’s tempting to cut corners.
Ambition - not ego, but a genuine desire to grow, improve and take ownership of their work. We operate in a sector where innovation is constant, and that drive to learn is invaluable.
Adaptability - because in solar energy and sustainability, things change quickly. From government incentives to new technologies, we need people who can pivot without losing focus.
These qualities matter because, at Falcon Energy we’re not just delivering a product, we’re delivering trust, reliability and long-term impact. Our clients aren’t only investing in solar panels; they’re investing in how we work.
For me, that means doing things the right way. Even when it’s harder.
There’s always a cheaper, quicker route: lower-grade materials, rushed installations and vague promises. I’ve seen it plenty of times, and I’ve walked away from projects where I felt we couldn’t meet the standard our name stands for.
We use certified solutions. We train our people thoroughly. We’re upfront with clients about what’s possible within their budget. That’s how we’ve built a reputation for reliability and results - something I believe is crucial in a young and fast-growing industry.
I often tell new founders: don’t just ask “What’s profitable?” Ask, “What’s right?”
Because in clean energy, your reputation is your brand. If you want to lead, you have to earn trust from your audience and clients, every single day.
